Remediation Project

Repurposing Project

Why I Write

The Minor in Writing program through the University of Michigan's Sweetland Center for Writing has been a wonderful yet challenging journey thus far. It has driven me to challenge myself by exploring various modes of writing I have never experienced.

The three categories above identify the core projects throughout the minor's first term: Repurposing an original piece for a different audience, remediating that piece to serve audiences via a new medium, and an essay that explores why I write. Each link will open a new page that further exapnds on each project. Additionally, I wanted to link to the Minor in Writing blog, specifically to my blog posts from this semester.

The Minor

The Progression

This page takes you from my original source, to my repurposed piece, and finally to my remediated project. As you will see, my original source and remeidated project are extremely different even though they stem from the same argument. This journey taught me a lot about myself: my writing, my values, my passions, my beliefs. My original piece came from a place of anger, my repurposed piece from a place of scrutiny, and my remediated piece from a place of wonder and introspectivity. I hope you feel these emotions and sentiments as you travel through the progression from my original piece, "Advertising of the Future," to my final remediated piece, my documenatry on the Ross School of Business.
